Through countless EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and appointments over the past few years, I developed anxiety over my heart. I always think that something is horribly wrong with it, even though the degree of my stenosis has always been very, very mild. It's sort of like I'm a hypochondriac about it. It's scary to know that one of the main things your life depends on doesn't function just right. But not anymore. :)
Today, I got really, really good news. The stenosis has corrected itself and I am completely normal! Music to my ears. This almost always happens in PVS patients. You are born with it, and depending on the degree of severity, it will either correct itself and go away altogether or there is a procedure that can be done to correct it. I was just waiting for that day to come. And it's finally here. The stenosis is gone!
My doctor sent me home with a 30-day event monitor for my own sanity, to sort of validate for myself that I'm in the clear. After 30 days, I'm free! Dr. Singh discharged me from her care and I don't have to go to the cardiologist again unless I ever have any problems (which I shouldn't, she said). I'm a little sad about not seeing her again. She is my favorite doctor and I love her! But I'm so so so so soooo happy that I'm healthy! :)
